Born on the kitchen table in Springville (the back woods) of Lake City, Florida and armed with only a Funnel, a can of Silly String and some Guava Jelly, Spike was determined to take on the air waves with a different angle to everyday sports and news.

Spike’s radio career began back in 2003, when close friend Scot Brantley offered a chance to sit in on his show. The pilot light was lit. It was like feeding a stray cat.
(They never leave). From that point on he volunteered in any capacity,
FM (Country, yeah I said Country) and AM (talk), just to be part of the station.
His pulsating personality on and off the air was recognized and he was eventually offered a position. The pay was just enough to buy a loaf of bread (to spread the Guava Jelly on) and a gallon of milk, and Spike’s reply was…
“Just Give Me the Mic!”.

I'm a hard core sports fan that grew up in Port Richey, Florida watching the Bucs, Rays, Magic, and Seminoles religiously. I graduated the Connecticut School of Broadcasting in 2003 and interned for Tampa TV station, WTSP Channel 10 in 2004 and WHOO ESPN radio in 2007. I got my big break sitting in on The FrontRow, a year later with Spike on the Mic, and from then on I was on the most enterataining sports talk show in the Tampa Bay area.
