Dan Boyle's surgery to repair three sliced tendons was deemed a success, and he is expected to be out 4-6. In what can only be described as a freak accident, Boyle's own skate fell from his locker, slicing three tendons in his left wrist. He's been cleared to return to the ice, and has been fitted with a brace which will prevent the thumb from moving, but will not be permitted to handle a stick for the time being. The loss of the teams' best defensemen for longer than the four weeks would be detrimental to the Bolt's start of the season. This is the latest injury in a list that seems to keep growing this preseason.
-Vinny Lecavalier upper body injury isn't considered serious and his removal from the game on Saturday night was just precautionary.
-The Bolt's trimmed their roster to 27 by sending six players to minor lieague affiliate Norfolk Admirals trainig camp. The list includes forwards Blair Jones, Norm Milley and Karl Stewart, and defensemen Dan Janceveski, Jay Leach and David Schneider.
-The Lightning play the Red Wings tonight at 7:30 at the Forum.
