Catching Up With The Bolts

Just a few notes to help catch everyone up on the happenings down at channelside drive.

The national television schedule has been released and the Bolts will make just tappearances this season,both on VERSUS. The first of which is November 19th at division rival Atlanta, the other is at home January 29th against Buffalo. The Lightning aren't currently on NBC's schedule, but they do have a flex-option allowing them to move games. In other words the better a storyline the Lightning are, the greater their chances of appearing on NBC.

The Lightning will be hosting fans to an Ice Fest Saturday August 25th at the St. Pete Times Forum, where they will formally unveil there new logo and uniforms here is the official release from the team:
The Tampa Bay Lightning will welcome fans to the St. Pete Times Forum on Saturday, August 25 for IceFest, a free hockey festival designed to celebrate the start of the 2007-08 season.

The special event, presented by the St. Pete Times in conjunction with Circle K, will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is highlighted this year by the unveiling of the Lightning’s new logo and jerseys at noon. Current Lightning players, including Chris Gratton, and alums, including Dave Andreychuk, are scheduled to appear. Lightning executive vice president & general manager Jay Feaster and head coach John Tortorella will participate in a Q & A session for season ticketholders at 11 a.m., followed by a similar session with assistant general manager Claude Loiselle and new assistant coach Mike Sullivan at 1 p.m.

Fans arriving for IceFest will enjoy a 50-foot snow slide on the Chrysler/Jeep Plaza, games for the kids (street hockey, rock climbing, etc.), player autographs, massage tents, live music and live remote broadcasts from 11 local radio stations. Hot dogs and sodas will be offered for $1, select Lightning merchandise will be available for 50 percent off and the Lightning Foundation will hold an auction of autographed memorabilia. The Lightning Ice Girls, Energy Team and ThunderBug will also greet fans and offer free face painting.

In addition, August 25 (10 a.m.) is the day that individual tickets for the Lightning’s 41 home regular season games and three home preseason games go on sale at the McDonald’s Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations. Additionally, 10-game packs are still available starting at $99.
